Orthodontic retention wire: manufactured by flat micro laser cutting
STEEC manufactures high-precision orthodontic retention wires using flat laser micro-cutting at its workshop in Brindas (69). Certified ISO 13485:2016, we meet the strict requirements of the dental and orthodontic sector.
Flat laser micro-cutting: the ideal technology for orthodontics
There flat micro laser cutting allows for the machining of very small flat parts with a precision and repeatability that traditional mechanical processes cannot achieve.
For the manufacture of orthodontic retention wires, This technology offers decisive advantages:
- Ultra-precise cutting of strips and flat wires made of medical-grade stainless steel or shape-memory alloy (nitinol), in thicknesses of a few tens of microns
- Absence of mechanical stress on the workpiece: no wire deformation, no work hardening induced by the tool
- Ability to produce complex shapes, custom profiles, and very small diameter perforations in a single pass
- Excellent reproducibility across series, essential for the conformity of dental medical devices
Our orthodontic retention wires: precision and medical conformity
We intervene at different stages of the chain of manufacturing of the retaining wire, depending on your needs:
Materials and dimensions
We primarily work with medical-grade stainless steel (316L), nitinol (a shape-memory nickel-titanium alloy), and cobalt-chromium alloys. Our laser equipment allows us to process thicknesses ranging from a few tens of microns to several millimeters, with dimensional tolerances on the order of ±5 µm.
Customization and small series
Whether you are a medical device manufacturer, research laboratory or deeptech start-up in the dental sector, we adapt our production to your volume: from the single study piece to the batch of several hundred units.
Each project begins with a technical analysis of your plans or specifications.
